Dennis Wayne Perry, 70, of Gardners, PA, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Thursday October 17, 2024.
Born on December 9,1953 in Nashville, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Ershal Perry & Bertha Florine (Cannon) Perry.
He is survived by his three sisters, Shirley Darks, of Nashville, TN, Diane Bagwell of Lakeland, FL, Sandra (Pete) Law and her husband Russell, of Adairsville, KY; brother, Donald Perry and his wife Marie, of Petersburg, AK; daughter Janet Perry and her partner Robert Wolf, of Gardners, PA; grandsons, Alexander Perry, of Altoona, PA, & Owen Wolf, of Gardners, PA; granddaughters, Lily Perry-Bloyer of Gardners, PA, Sylviona Perry of Biglerville, PA, Sierra Wolf of Gardners, PA, & Persephonie Perry of Hanover, PA; as well as his daughter by choice, Jenny Houck-Peterson and her husband Michael, their children Leland Houck & Dahlia Houck-Peterson, all of Abbottstown, PA and numerous nieces & nephews.
Dennis was a silver fox who had the hair of a Greek god. He was a heavy equipment operator who took great pride in his work, until he retired. After retirement, he spent most of his time in Florida, but then relocated to Pennsylvania to spend more time with his grandchildren. Dennis was a free spirit who lived life to the fullest on his own terms and was happiest when he was on the back of his Harley Davison. He was never afraid to tell you what he thought about anything, whether you sought out his opinion or not, usually in the style of a southern, metaphoric phrase that you may or may not have had to look up. He was a self-proclaimed bad man, as evident by the fact that “he would push baby ducks in the water”, because he loved to make the children smile.
He was predeceased by his sisters, Linda & Margaret "Margie" Perry; brother-in-law, Bill Darks; and son, Steven Perry.
The family welcomes anyone who would like to participate in celebration of his life, to be held on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at Oakside Chapter House, Oakside Community Park, Biglerville, PA at 5pm.
