Dennis S. Smith

Dennis Standly Smith, 79, of Spring Grove, PA, passed away on Friday, October 6, 2023 at his home while surrounded by his loving family.

He was the son of the late Lester and Cecilia (Eckenrode) Smith.

Dennis retired after 35 years from P. H. Glatfelter Paper Company in Spring Grove.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Sherry (McCoullough) Smith; five daughters, Debra Smith, Tami Riley, Sherry Lynn Helf, Denise Tushingham, and Kimberly Swiger; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and his faithful dogs, Sugar and Spice.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his 9 siblings, Doris Davis, Lester Smith, Jr., Robert Smith, Shirley Schaffer, Annamary Fissel, Neil Smith, Raymond Smith,  Pauline Cross, and Wanda Cohen. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at his daughter's home, 12 Roman Lane, Hanover, PA. The time will be determined.
