Gary Kauffman, Sr.

Gary Lee Kauffman, Sr., passed away at his home on Thursday, November 28, 2024, in Biglerville, Pennsylvania, at the age of 77. 

Born April 8, 1947, in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late George and Mary (Miller) Kauffman.

Gary dedicated 35 years of his career as a glass processor at Pittsburgh Plate Glass Industries (PPG).

Gary engaged in various personal projects, often spending his time painting cars and undertaking construction endeavors around his home. A passionate NASCAR fan, Gary found joy in watching races, and during his younger years, he enjoyed the thrill of hunting.

He leaves behind his former spouse of 50 years, Darlene Kauffman of Gardners, PA; his two sons, Gary Lee Kauffman, Jr. of Gettysburg and Shawn Edward Kauffman of Biglerville; three cherished grandchildren, Lilly Mae Kauffman, who is 18, and twins Landon Shawn Kauffman and Leah Sara Kauffman, both 15; four siblings, Gerald Kauffman and his wife Shirley, Gloria Stultz and her husband Charles, Joan Gray, and Steve Kauffman and his partner George. He was especially fond of his faithful dog, Buddy, who remained a loyal companion.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by two brothers, Dale Kauffman and Clyde Kauffman, and a sister, Doris Knott. 

A memorial service to celebrate Gary's life will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, December 6, 2024, at Brandenburg & Stein Funeral Parlor located at 3045 Baltimore Pike, Gettysburg, PA, with Rev. Doug Lichty officiating.

Inurnment will be private.
