Marie Therese Cornwell

Marie Therese “Nickie” Cornwell, 77, of Fairfield, PA, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2024. She was the loving wife of the late Elmer Cornwell for over 50 years. Born May 14, 1947, in Ontario, Canada, she was the devoted daughter of the late Gerard Joseph and JeanDac (Dorion) Lapierre.

Marie was a loving, caring, giving, gracious individual who would give you the shirt off her back. She was a big-hearted, patient woman who enriched others lives by lifting them up regardless of her own circumstances. She was an excellent mother who loved her family especially her grandbabies. Marie was a seamstress who retired from the English American Tailoring Company in Westminster, MD.

She is survived by her daughter, Sharon Barresi and her significant other, George Ferguson; daughter-in-law, Tammy Deavers; sisters, Susie and Tracy; grandchildren, Wynter, Taylor, Tommy Jr., and Robert; great-grandchildren, Rylee and Zander; several nieces; great nieces and friends.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her son, Thomas William Deavers and brother, Raymond Lapierre.

Services are private. 

In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to help cover the costs of the funeral arrangements.
