Nancy Carol (Huff) Zavilla, 84, of Hanover, PA, passed away on Monday, March 6, 2023, at her home, while surrounded by her loving family.
Born March 30, 1938 in Olean, NY, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Myrtle (Kemp) Huff.
She was a graduate of Olean High School.
Nancy worked in the cafeteria at Meadowbrook High school for many years, where she was loved by staff and students alike.
She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hanover; went to the YMCA regularly and loved participating in the recycled teenager’s club. Nancy enjoyed bingo and day trips to the casinos.
She is survived by her son, Jeffrey Zavilla and his wife Karen; her daughter, Janice Haughton; eight grandchildren, Darrell Zavilla, Destiny Zavilla, Danielle Roach, Amber Lincoln, Joseph Zavilla, Alex Zavilla, Matt Ryder, Jenn Ryder; 9 great-grandchildren; her brother, Dave Huff and his wife Judy; her sister-in-law, Jeanette Craddock; her brother-in-law, Kent Cobado; and various nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 32 years, Paul L. Zavilla, who died March 26, 1988; two sons, Paul Lee Zavilla, Jr., Richard Allen Zavilla; a daughter, Shelly Joanne Grey; a grandson, Joshua Zavilla; her brother and his wife, Jack and Barbara Cradduck; brothers, Chuck Cradduck and Tom Cradduck; and her sisters, Barbara Cobado, and Sherry Huff.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, March 10, 2023 at Brandenburg & Stein Funeral Parlor, 3045 Baltimore Pike, Gettysburg, PA. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. She will be privately laid to rest beside her husband in Dale Memorial Park, in Chesterfield VA.
Her family would like to thank hospice and the Visiting Nurses Association, for all their help caring for Nancy in her final weeks.
