Robert Jacob Bishop

Robert Jacob Bishop, 84, of Littlestown, peacefully passed away on Friday, October 4, 2024, at his home, while surrounded by his daughters. 

Born January 20, 1940 in Reisterstown, MD, he was the son of the late Jacob H. and Mary Viola (Sprinkle) Bishop. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, James and Joseph Bishop; and a sister, Mary J. Hoffman.

Robert was a 1958 graduate of North Carroll High School.

He was a veteran of the United States Army.

He worked for many years as a truck driver.

Robert loved to fish, almost as much as he loved to read and watch westerns. He also enjoyed tending to his vegetable garden.

He was a member of the Littlestown VFW, where he served on the honor guard, and a member of the Fredericksburg American Legion, Post #915.

He is survived by his sister, Betty "June" Armacost; three daughters, Teresa Boylan and husband Tommy, Bonnie Bishop, Tammy Bishop and husband Roy Collins; a grandson, Joshua Beal; his faithful dog, Shadow; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Robert's name to the Fredericksburg American Legion Post #915, 669 Legionaire Dr, Fredericksburg, PA 17026 or to the Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) of Hanover & Spring Grove, 440 Madison St, Hanover, PA 17331.
