Terry loved her family more than anything else in this world. She loved to vacation in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and visit her family in Washington, North Carolina. She especially loved to laugh with those around her, especially her sister Connie. Terry’s gift was to take a meal to one of her friends and their family, if they were sick or experienced the loss of a loved one.

She loved Christmas and always celebrated the birth of Jesus. Terry was a Christian, she read her Bible daily and when she couldn’t attend church during the COVID pandemic and when she was sick, she listened to sermons by Dr. David Jeremiah and sermons by Rev. Billy Graham from his archives and sermons by Dr. Rev. Andrew Bell of Hampstead Baptist Church. She enjoyed listening to contemporary Christian music but loved some of the old hymns as well.

Terry was a beloved nurse at St. Joseph’s, University of Maryland Hospital in Towson, Maryland for 37 years. She worked on the General Surgical Ward, then joined the I.V. team and for the remainder of her career she was a labor and delivery nurse. She was known for her compassion for her patients and their newborn babies. Terry was also known as the baby whisperer; softly speaking to the mothers during their labor. She excelled during an emergency.

When Terry moved to Hanover, PA, she joined a small Bible study group. She became very good friends with Monica Salisbury and Samantha Kirby who she affectionately named “the Fro’s”. Other members of the Bible study were Deana Martin, Stacey Fisher, Ashley Burnett, and Rose Rosario.

Terry received wonderful care from Dr. Judie Howrylak, Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, who is an active pulmonologist at the center of excellence for interstitial lung disease and her very dear friend and personal care provider, Julie Ward Kaczor, for over 30 years. She was very supportive and helpful to her throughout many trials in her life including serious health issues of her grandchildren.

Arrangements are with Brandenburg and Stein Funeral Parlor of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. There will be no graveside service. A Celebration of Life service will be held at the Hampstead Baptist Church 328 Hanover Pike, Hampstead, Maryland 21074 with Dr. Rev. Andrew Bell officiating on March 15 at 6:00 p.m.
