Veteran Services Overview

For all of us at Brandenburg & Stein Funeral Parlor, there is no greater honor than serving the family of a loved one who spent their life serving our country. We are deeply committed to providing a service that is unique and meaningful. We are proud to provide professional assistance that includes helping you acquire and complete the necessary forms to obtain benefits specific to a deceased veteran.

When serving a veteran family, we help them understand the two most common questions.

“What benefits are available to Veterans?” & “Does my loved one qualify?”

Veteran Services

We’ve included information here that will answer both questions, but most families want to know even more, which is why we have an easy form below to request more information. If you fill this out, a knowledgeable member of our staff will be happy to assist you.

Are you thinking about Burial-at-Sea as a final mean of disposition?

Brandenburg & Stein Funeral Parlor can assist you with that, either at the time of need or through pre-arranging. The United States Coast Guard and Navy will provide burial at sea, at no charge, for cremated remains of military personnel, dependents, and civilians. Military honors are provided when appropriate.

Burial of cremated remains may be performed by boats, ships, or aircraft of the Coast Guard or Navy. Family members are not routinely present for the burial ceremony but can be given approval from the commanding officer of a cutter or the commander responsible for a boat or aircraft involved. After burial at sea, the commander or commanding officer will notify the deceased’s family in writing reporting the date, time, latitude and longitude of the burial.

Requirements:

  • Copy of the death certificate
  • Cremation Certificate
  • DD-214
  • Request Form from Military Funeral Honors Coordinator

Special requests can be accommodated such as:
